What's new today? I think I'm gettting close to a new job. THINK....anyway, I'm not getting too excited about it yet. Last night after starting my myspace page I ended up spending around 2 hours messing around with colors and pictures on it. I have decided it's the devil.

Okay, so I cracked and started a myspace page.

Nothing too major has been going on lately. I turned 26. Married life is just about like life before, except now I think if I got pregnant I'd be happy about it. :) Anyway, my job is going away at the end of this month and I've been looking for another. So far there has been no takers of the employment of the wonderment known as Amanda. Not freaking out though....yet.

I forgot to say earlier that Spectrum Sound is the worst DJ ever.

For those of you dying to know.... here's what we mostly did on our honeymoon:

We stayed at the Forgotten in Time Cabins in Derby, which is about a mile away from the highway deep in woods. When we got there on Sunday afternoon we were greeted with a refrigerator full of food and drinks thanks to cousin Eric and Teresa (Mt. Dew, yum)! There was also a basket of goodies from cousin Valerie. Very thoughtful. We grilled out dinner and spent some time on the lake/pond thing.

The next morning we had a really great breakfast and then went down a small path to the creek that feeds into the Ohio river. We took the provided canoe down the creek and saw so many fish, it was nuts! We made it to the river, which was about a mile and a half trip. Chris wanted to go canoeing in the river, but not me. I didn't want to get swept away into the Mississippi or anything, which would probably have been impossible. When we got back, we went swimming in the lake- well, Chris swam, I floated on a raft. Our lunch plans were to drive to Leavenworth and eat at the Overlook restaraunt. Turns out it was a big drive, but worth it. Eating lunch overlooking the river was a lot of fun. We decided to keep driving, and ended up at Marengo cave. We took a short 1/2 mile cave tour, which was fine with me (we were wearing shorts).

We were going to keep driving, but I was ready to head back, we had a lot of driving to do back. We saw a sign that said "Buzzards Roost" which we were interested in seeing. We took the side road and drove and drove and drove.

Buzzards Roost was a tiny little roadside park that you could almost make out the river through the trees. We got out of the car and saw a path. There was a sign that said it was a 1/2 mile trail. There wasn't much trail to it, mostly making your way down rocks. It winded down a hill and cliffs and ended up right on the river. We looked around the river for a while for arrowheads (weeeee!) and I found a few small pieces of flint. Some people boating thought we were stranded. We went back up up up the hill and drove on to the cabin.

After a bit of relaxing and feeding the HUGE grass carp in the lake we cleaned up and decided to have dinner at Rocky Point marina. This was going to be the highlight of the day, but they weren't open on Monday. They said to come back Wednesday (not possible). So we drove into Tell City and ate at the Patio. Chris had only the dessert bar and I had the salad bar. Then back to the cabin.

The next day we got up and watched some tv then packed it up to go back to Terre Haute. All in all, it was a relaxing few days. I'm looking forward to a vacation next year where we can go some place without so many bugs. :)

I've added a pic of us at the bottom of Buzzard's Roost, which I guess you could call it "buzzard's bottom"
