3 Things I Blame My Mother For (and the stories that explain them):
1. My irrational fear of being alone at night.
This stems from mom and dad not letting me stay home alone at night until college. It also can be stemmed from always having the curtains pulled and being 110% positive the doors were locked before bed. Apparently the thought was someone was always out to get us.
2. My lack of kitchen skills.
My mom never ever showed me how to cook anything. For most of my life I assumed food magically appeared on the table, and my payment would be have to be doing the dishes...oh the fun of avoiding the dishes. Kristina would always "suddenly have to go to the bathroom for 30 minutes" so she's always get to rinse and put away the dishes, which was for some reason easier.
3. Fear of flying/overcrowded areas
These two go hand in hand. You see, my mom would never ever fly anywhere. I think it was because there were too many crowds where we wanted to fly to. We drove everywhere for vacations....which is always fun with two older sisters who forced me to sit in the middle of the back seat. I experienced my first flight last year. Nick and I went to Florida (one of those "crowded places"). I have to tell you that flying is no big thing.

SO as I sit alone at home, mildly scared of "what's out there" I blame my mother. Thanks mom!

I am never ever doing anyone a favor again. I tried setting up one of my coworkers with my friends' friend. He left after 30 minutes.....It made me look bad, and I was just trying to be a nice person. Never again.

Today in the mail I received a Christmas card from the HR people where I did my internship. What a nice gesture, and completely opposite from how my current coworkers treat me.

One of the new employees at work was a chef in a past career. He gave me a great recipe for swedish meatballs...

Not too much has happened this week, I'm rewriting all of the job descriptions for our call center, and testing and interviewing people for 28 positions we have open for the season. My brain is pretty much fried from just thinking work work work.

I'm having a get together this weekend, and have yet to prepare. The only thing I've done so far is bought some food for it. My parents are coming up on Saturday, so they'll help me get ready.

Well, it's time to go buy an outfit for a Christmas party :) Yay!

Today I realized this:
Although you have eighteen million projects in your face, that doesn't mean you have to work on them all right away. Life will go on.

This lady I work with has six cats. SIX. Today I dropped someting off at her desk and she told me a "real quick story" about how her carbon monoxide alarm went off and how her cats went and hid. This real quick story lasted 25 minutes. 25 minutes is a long time when every time you blink someone calls and leaves a message. Anyway, I like talking to the cat lady....she understands that my dogs are like my kids.
