So I have decided I'll probably stay in Terre Haute until my one year "raise" comes along. If it's good enough I'll stay. If not, then I'll start looking for something else. That isn't too long from now, it will be next month.

My "Grandma" Helen passed away this past weekend. My favorite memories of her are when I first joined the church choir when I was in 6th grade and she'd talk to me during mass. She was probably the most sincere woman I'll ever meet. She'd let my dog run around her house, even though it looked like everything was dusted and meticulously cleaned every day. No matter what I told her, she'd always have something positive to say about it. Every year she'd get me a chocolate easter bunny and chocolate santa wrapped in colored cellophane. She said "I know how much you love your chocolate," even though dad always ended up eating it. She was my confirmation sponsor, so one thing I'll always have with me to remind me of her is my confirmation name, which I chose because it was the same as hers: Cecilia.

Grandma Helen was a very kind woman. You were also very kind when you'd graciously accept her chocolate time after time after time. Seeing it in the freezer at home-home always made me smile because it reminded me that our chosen families can be just as important as our true family. In my case, they are very much the same.

Very sorry to hear about Grandma Helen. Read it in the paper and new you would be hurting....so I hurt for you (just so you wouldn't have to hurt as much).

Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear about Grandma Helen, Manda.
Hoping you get a BIGGER raise than you are expecting...
And it is nice that comments can easily be posted...I shall have to pass the word to the Mysterious Fella...
