Today was a decent Monday, even though I had new hire orientation as well as a new salaried employee at the same time. I bet about half the people who I hired today quit because they changed the shift on them right after orientation. They were supposed to work three ten hour days, but it changed to five eight hour days. Two people came into HR and bitched at me because of this. I said to them "It is your supervisor's decision, and your application did say that you are available to work any shift on short notice." It's like these people aren't appreciative that they even HAVE a job, they have to get a FULL TIME job and it has to be convenient hours for THEM. Total bullshit.
I have two weeks to hire twenty part time call center people. I have no idea how I'm going to do this. My boss is in Canada helping those helpless morons with their call center hiring (which they've had months to do), so that leaves ME in the "Employment Department."
One good thing about snow: You can see if someone has been in your yard.
One bad thing about snow: It gets in your shoes.
The following is the most ridiculous thing I found out about my workplace:
When it snows or there is a chance of snow the HR gang wears jeans "in case they are stranded on the way to work." isn't that bizarre?
I really think I should pack up and move away.
